I am sooooo fed up with my job, and have been for about the last year. Bad software, bad management, bad resource allocation, etc., etc., etc. The frustration makes me cry, makes me grumpy with my family, and I don't see anything going on within the company that is going to make it any better. I'm slowly working toward fixing up our finances so that we can manage on my husband's salary (I know, I am very lucky that this is even a possibility), but it's feeling endless, and I am inclined to throw a hissy fit and quit on a fairly regular basis, in the meantime.
So, reddit, have you ever ragequit a job? What was the fallout? Edited to add: I am NOT actually planning to do this. I just want to. I'm generally a calm person; I have never full-on yelled at anyone in my entire life, not caused any physical violence.
It's not my nature, and I'm certainly not going to do that in a professional environment. I'm just fed up, and the progress of taking the responsible avenue towards financial stability when I leave this job is feeling interminably slow. I am not sure about 'rage quit,' but this happened to me: I was 20, and engaged. My work as a book store manager was not letting me have any time off. I missed my fiancee's prom, and other important events. I asked to have part of Christmas off, and I got denied.
Then I was told because I didn't take vacation that year, I'd just lose it next year (no rollover). The final straw came when my boss made a surprise audit of my store on a Saturday evening after I had left to go home.
