Contents • • • • • Description [ ] First added on October 9, 1998 as, Big Game Hunters (BGH from now on) was added to the folder when Brood War was released. Since then it has become a very popular map for 2v2's and larger team games on Battle.net. This map is based on and follows the same layout, but gives players more mineral patches and an additional vespene gas geyser in each main.

Challenger was that 1v1 map that was default i think, good times:D And hunters and it's infinite mineral counterpart Big game hunters were the epic-est 8 player maps.

Nevertheless, BGH proved to be an extremely successful map and even has developed a fanbase on its own that has refined Strategies on this unique map to an extremely high degree. See also: Notable Features [ ] • 'Unlimited Resources' - There are 15 mineral patches (9 is standard) with each containing 20,000 minerals (1,500 is standard). Iexplore Exe Version 7.0 5730.13.

There is 2 Vespene Gas geysers (1 is standard) with each containing 50,000 gas (5,000 is standard). The naturals contain one half this amount. The middle has only 12 mineral patches but 20,000 minerals and 50,000 gas. • Tankable Natural - Every natural is able to be sieged from another base, gives terran an advantage if the game drags on.

• Small cliffs behind mineral line on main - Can be used to place scouting over or for muta harass. It's also popular to go for fast Tank Drops on those cliffs. See also: • Center - most paths between bases go through the center. Helvetica Neue T1 55 Roman more. In 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 games holding the center is very important - the opponent's team can't gather forces together if the center is held and the team holding the center can attack any of opponent's player at once. Think of the center as 'headquarters.'

• 12/11 positions - Both these bases virtually share the same natural, and can be walled at the choke with a single barracks, hatchery, or gateway. • 3 and 9 o'clock positions - both have larger and non-comfortable shape main, this gets no advantage but makes enemies drop easier to implement.

• 6 and 7 o'clock positions - these positions can share a wall-in/choke in team play. BGH Community [ ]. There has been much controversy with the BGH community as most people considered it (and still do) to be skill-less map played only by newbie players in public games. What most of those people don't know, is that there has been a core BGH community pretty much since the release of the map. There were even several sites that run a BGH league. First one, consisting mostly of Germans, was bgh-rulez.de that started in 2001.
